Welcome to Yippy!

Some people find our site a bit overwhelming because it's not just a simple website that does one lonely thing. It's been described as a cloud; an ever changing shape. It's been described as a river: a quick, fluid site that's deeper than it looks. Both descriptions are right. Here's a little guide on how to tame the Yippy. Once you see what various icons do, your status will be upgraded from noob to pro.

In the top right of the site are five red buttons with the gold 'y' in the middle. These are the main controls for your menu that's sitting just below it. The 'y' button in the middle is like a home button, and will always return you to the main menu. The UP and DOWN buttons replaces the old-fashioned scroll bar for the menu items. The '<' and '>' buttons move the menu backwards and forwards much like when you use the browser.

At the bottom right of our site is a small player and a tiny banner ad. The great thing about our site is that if you don't want to see an ad (they're distracting and take up space) you can just click the 'X' icon next to it and it'll disappear, and be replaced with something actually useful. There are three video size settings on here. Small, Large and Full Screen. We have tons of videos for you to watch, covering almost every entertainment genre (except porn. This site is smut-free thank you very much!)

These are the player icons. In large screen they're easy to read, and pretty self explanatory. Do you see that 'X' icon there? Click it and get rid of that ad. You can put radio down there if you want.

Here is the main menu that you see when you first come to our site.

1. Home: Here you can check local weather, news, traffic, sports and stocks.

2. Shows: This is the place for videos. They're all categorized by genre. Surfing, comedy, music, stupid stunts, and much, much more. There's literally thousands of hours of videos, and more are being constantly added. Take the day off work, play around.

3. Popular: This is where you will find the most popular videos that are in our collection. If they're popular you KNOW they're good. Every video on our site is good.

4. Games: So far we've got a collection of the old-school classics, and pretty soon the list will be bumped up with a lot of great new games.

5. News: This section is a monster. Because we have a global audience, we HAD to develop a section that caters to everyone, all over the planet. This too is constantly being added to. There's local, national, international news, at least 100 types of sport news, music, tech, and a lot more. You will have the previews over the menu, and then if you want to read further, click it and the full article will open in the browser.

6. Radio: We have a radio station that you can listen to while you do other things on Yippy!! It takes up only a small space on the site, near the bottom, and is easy to use. Soon we'll be beefing this up as well, breaking it up into musical genres, making it much more appitizing to more people. If you want to close it, simply click the "x" and it will still play. To stop it, re-open it from the radio icon and click stop or pause.

7. Tools. Right now this section is pretty small, but more features will be added to make this fully customizable. Right now you can change themes and colors of the background around Yippy, contact us, bookmark the site, join our mailing list, and more.

8. Chat: The Chat icon opens a chat window inside the menu where you can chat with other Yippy users around the globe. Currently, the chat is a "try me" feature under the small player. Enlarge the player, and there it is!

9. Community: Here is where our social networking hub will be. There are also local features such as lotto numbers, horoscopes, movie schedules, and more.

10. Mobile: That's coming soon. It'll be a blast.

11. Office: This is also coming soon. When we get this running you'll think 2008 was the dark ages.

12. Email: And the 'cherry' of the Coming-Soon-Aps is the Yippy Email system, which'll be online in September, if not sooner. You can sign up for it now to reserve your yippy.com address.

This is the Yippy Radio which sits unobtrusively, yet conveniently under the browser. It's easy to use and is currently being expanded. She'll be beautiful.

At the top left of our site are some "quick-click" icons including changing themes, colors and radio. These are very handy, and soon when you can set up your own Yippy account, these quick-click icons will be customizable. You will be able to put your favorite games in there, news feeds, videos, applications or websites. Above these is the Yippy browser, which is faster than any other browser on the internet. The 'GO!' button acts as a refresh button as well as it's 'GO!" function.

And here is the shining star of this site. As this screen capture shows, you can do multiple things at once, all on one page, without needing to refresh the browser. You have complete control over what you want to do. Take a deep breath and experiment a little. As you can see here, I'm reading a news article from a New Zealand website. To the right I'm losing a game of Hexxagon. Beneath the game I'm watching a video from the show "Dang That Hurt", taken from our own footage. Under the news the radio is playing. Of course you don't HAVE to have all of these things open at once. But the beauty of Yippy is that if you want to, you CAN!! If you want to make the game bigger, it'll expand over the news. Minimize the game again, and the news is still there!!!

This overview will be updated as we blossom. We have a lot of great ideas that we want to share with you, so stick around. This'll be wild.
